Superyacht Davits

Our Atlas carbon davits are often used for deploying superyacht toys. These days, the toys associated with superyachts are many and varied and each year the list grows longer and more fascinating.  This year at Monaco Yacht Show I was really excited to get a ride in a submersible;  it was the weirdest feeling being warm and dry in the little capsule and sinking slowly away from the crazy hustle and bustle that is MYS and down into the calm and sensory deprivation that is below water.

Back to reality, the range of carbon cranes from Atlas are most often used for launching jetskis and waterslides and we get great feedback from yacht captains and crew.  We understand that discretion is of the utmost importance for our customers so it’s always nice when we have the go ahead to share some of the boats we work with and testimonials from happy customers.

Here’s one from the skipper of MY Andiamo – we helped them get out of a tight situation by quickly turning around a Baby Atlas 1200 davit.

Kayden, crew of the 55 m Amels MY Galene had this to say about his carbon fibre crane, one of our Atlas 2500’s.  He likes the portable nature of the davit and the fact they are easy to use.

“….it’s easy to teach new deckies how to use it and they are pretty comfortable with it right away. We use it to launch our jetski and our ‘Zest’ dinghy and we have another couple of sockets we can use to launch from, so the manoeuvrability of it is great.  It looks good, works well; it’s a pretty nifty little thing”.

Another popular use of our carbon fibre cranes in is to launch Seabobs.   They sound such fun, like a submersible without the protective cover and I’ve heard they make you feel like a dolphin. Hopefully it’s only a matter of time before I get to try one of those too!

In the meantime, I continue to get vicarious pleasure hearing how our strong, and aesthetically pleasing carbon fibre cranes are used every day by people all over the world on the most beautiful superyacht decks.
