Man-Riding Rescue Davits
We manufactured our first carbon fibre rescue davit back when Atlas Carbon Products first started. (which is actually 25 years ago this year!)
Back then it was our MD Kit, who went out on the road carrying a prototype carbon fibre crane to show off to the MOD up at Faslane in Scotland. They were looking for a lightweight, portable, ‘Swimmer of the Watch’ davit for their soon-to-be-launched Type 45 frigates. The meeting went well and the sockets for those early cranes were designed into the ships.
Moving on to today, we now frequently work with respected classification society RINA to code our davits and cranes to meet Man-riding and Rescue boat standards. The lightweight, manoeuvrability of our lightweight carbon fibre rescue cranes makes completing a rescue drill stress free and easy to learn.
We enjoy working with RINA and having the quality of our work checked and endorsed by one of the most rigorous testing programmes in the world. Our certified rescue cranes were developed inline with REG A Yacht code for vessel’s below 500gt.
We now have many superyacht customers around the world who enjoy the safety and security of having a RINA endorsed man-riding rescue davit on board.
